Join us this summer and set sail for VBS fun!
We will set sail on our High Seas Expedition, beginning on Sunday July 18th at 6:00 pm.
Registration will be open at 5:00 so children and parents can come aboard and begin to dive into God's word. One very exciting aspect of this year's VBS is that we will launch our journey together with students and adults from Grace Community Church.
As we did last year we will place the elementary kids in mixed-age groups. Students who finished kindergarten through grade 4 will work together in crews, are led by teenagers who will help the group form a special bond with each other and the Lord over the course of the week. Pre-schoolers (ages 3 & 4) will be together in one crew. We will be in need of items for decorating and our snack time. There will be a detailed list on a Kiosk in the Narthex,
remembering to keep in mind any Ship, Sea, Boating accessory would make great props.

Youth News and Upcoming Events
Thank you to all who supported our recent Windshield Washing Fundraiser – we hope you were able to see God's creation more clearly! Twelve Middle School and High School Youth together with 2 chaperones will be participating in a Mission Trip to the foothills of the Applachain Mountains in Northern West Virginia this coming July. As such they are
diligently seeking the congregation and community support with a few special fund raisers over the next 8 weeks. Your support is welcome in this way:
Jubilee Parade and Day in the Park Concession Sales. The youth will be selling pop & water along the parade route on June 18 – thanks for your support of their sales. And during Day in the Park they will be selling cold frozen concoctions and lite sticks – again thanks for seeking them out and supporting their fund raiser.
Sponsor a servant – the cost of the mission trip is $500 per person. Consider sponsoring one of the youth or chaperones by teaming up with your friends or family members and underwriting the entire cost – or even partial cost.
Take Stock in Youth – Stock Holders are sought for our “sure thing investment.” Far better than the returns on Wall Street investments, our youth will return with joy and humility, and share with you their experiences at the Shareholders Appetizer & Dessert Buffet after their return. Platinum Shares of Stock are $250; Gold shares: $100; Silver shares: $50; and Bronze shares: $25. This is an opportunity to invest locally in a worthwhile mission endeavor.

World's Longest Yard Sale – The Trinity Lutheran Men in Mission need your help! They will be participating in the “World's Longest Yard Sale”, along U.S. 127. The dates they will be displaying items and selling them are Thursday, August 5 through Saturday, August 7 from 8a.m.-5 p.m. The location where they will be selling items will be in the parking lot of Rick Taylor Insurance, located approx. ¼ mile south of the Bryan city limits on U.S. 127/St. Rd. 15. Here is where they need YOU! The Trinity men are asking for donations of “garage sale” items from TLC and community members. If you have an item to donate, please call John Wolf @ 419-636-7670 to arrange for pick-up or delivery of your donated item. The Trinity men would like to have your items donated by Sunday, August 1 to give them time to make up a list of items that they will have for sale. Proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to benefit youth mission and ministry.

Trinity Youth Mission Trip: The Final Days Before
We continue to make plans for the mission trip to Appalachia the week of July 25 to July 31. And we invite the congregation to join in a prayerful sendoff at 10:00 a.m. in the church parking lot when we gather to leave on Sunday morning, July 25, 2010. We also hope you will allow us to serve you as we flex our servant heart and skill with a brunch on Sunday, July 11, 2010. The menu will include: Breakfast Casserole, Muffins, Fruit, and Beverages. A freewill offering will be received. Participants in the trip are listed on the front page of this
newsletter. In addition to your prayers we will also be accompanied by a dozen or so prayer shawls which will be blessed to share with those whom we serve. Thank you for your ongoing encouragement and support.

Members of Trinity Lutheran Church were once again VERY active in their participation of the annual Williams County “Relay for Life” – which raises money for the American Cancer Society and cancer research. Trinity Lutheran raised and donated (to date) over $3000 to the 2010 Williams County ASC “Relay for Life”. There are a few donors to our team who still want to contribute. Our fundraising activities included Michele Fireovid’s “Cookie Walk” and the TLMM pancake and sausage breakfast on Saturday morning at the RFL event, plus several individual donations. Thanks to these Trinity members for their participation this past weekend: Steve & Michele Fireovid, Howie Vreeland, Matt & Jen Wieland, Pastor Dave Proctor, John & Joanne Wolf, Rhonda Fackler, Rob Goodlive, Tom Smith, Rich & Kim Reed, Jeff & Jacob Whitman, Bart Swarzbek, Floyd Taylor, Merle Griffis, Marlene Reed, Jason Johnston, Kim Bassett, Lou Mollett, and Joe Whisler.

Here are some great ways to get involved in a variety of Trinity Activities. Remember, the more the merrier!

We are “The Welcome Place” and need your help welcoming members and guests. We need GREETERS for many upcoming Sundays. Please check out the sign-up sheet in the narthex. It’s a great way to start your morning with a friendly “Hello” to, and from, others.
Midweek Manna Helpers - we will need people for July and August. Another great way to
chat with old friends and meet some new ones! Plus, WOW, a great meal every Wednesday!
Trinity Tripsters! Fran Schlachter is doing a bang-up job but could use some help with making phone calls and checking out the possible places for upcoming events. Also, please remember to sign up for the upcoming events - watch for more info on the kiosks in the narthex.

Feel free to “Bring A Buddy” - with you to church, to Manna, or on Trinity Tripsters Travels! EVERYONE is welcome at Trinity.

DIRECTORY UPDATE! Yes! Believe it or not, the directory has been submitted to Lifetouch for printing. The membership committee has worked hard on this project and we think you will be pleased with the results. The directories should be available this month.

B.A.M.A. Joint Worship Service
Join friends in Christ together at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 25 at McDonald-Ruff Ice Rink for worship. A Children's program will be included; Pastor Mary Beth is preaching the sermon entitled: “Separately United”, based on John 17. If you are concerned about the offerings being appropriately distributed to the participating churches, be assured that each congregation will have specifically designated offering boxes placed for the collection of offering envelopes and other financial gifts. A potluck will be served with First Presbyterian coordinating the effort. Our congregation is asked to provide the following for the meal: There is a sign-up sheet on the kiosk in the narthex on which you are asked to please indicate your willingness to provide a casserole or hot side dish which will serve 20 people. We need 20 dishes to serve a total of 400 people. For those reluctant to do this “new thing” remember that our 6:00 p.m. Saturday Evening Service of Holy Communion will
be held as normal.

Scholarship Recipients for the 2010-2011 School Year... Funds for the Trinity Lutheran Church Scholarships include investment proceeds and additional designated gifts to the fund established in memory of Joseph Yekisa, as well as from the budgetary item for Lutheran Higher Education Scholarships. A total of $3500 will be disbursed this academic year to the following recipients: Amy Missler, Brett Whisler, Ty Smith, Florin Helf, Brittany Staup, Kirsten Wieland, and Lyndsey Darrow. Congratulations!

Summer Sunday School A reminder to parents and students....The final session of Sunday School will be May 23rd. We will not offer summer Sunday School. We hope to see you back on September 12th for Rally Day. Enjoy your summer vacations!!!!!

Worship Schedule Changes: Saturday worship at 6 pm beginning the first Saturday in April (the exception is Holiday weekends - Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving weekend, and Christmas).  Sunday morning services change to 9:30 am each week from Memorial Day through Labor Day.  There will be no Sunday School in the summer. The final day for Sunday School will be Sunday, May 23rd.  Sunday School will resume on September 12th.

Mid-week Manna:  Join us every Wed. evening for food & fellowship from 5:30-6:45 pm.   If you're here for one of the many activities, or just want to join us for dinner, please come.  A free will offering basket will be available to cover expenses.

Church Parking:  Parking to the south of our building (other than spots directly behind the church) is the property of St. Patrick's Church.  Please leave those spaces for their use on Sunday morning.

Hospital Visitation Note:  A federal law greatly restricts the disclosure of patient information by hospitals.  As a result, the pastor and church office may not know that a member of the church has been admitted to the hospital.  If you are hospitalized and would like to notify the pastor, it is important that you or a family member inform the church office.  Call the church office at 419-636-3387.
